Uganda

The University of Oregon uses a holistic review process when making our admissions decisions. Though academic performance is important, we also consider strength of curriculum, English proficiency, grade trend, and other factors.

Freshman admission

For admission consideration, students from the Ugandan education system must have passed two Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education subjects and five Uganda Certificate of Education (O-level) subjects (including English and math). Applicants who have completed only the Uganda Certificate of Education must have passed English, math, and three additional subjects as well as have a minimum average of 6 on the 9-point scale (where 1 is high). If your secondary school uses a different grading scale, please contact us.

Students from Uganda need to meet the University of Oregon's minimum English proficiency requirements for admission. If you do not meet the minimum English proficiency requirements, you may apply for conditional admission.
