Best advice for high school students looking to attend college: Ask lots of questions. It can be intimidating to seek help, but it’s so important. Learning about the different programs a school offers, the cost of tuition, and the types of scholarships available - among other things - can be overwhelming or difficult to figure out on your own. The advisors and counselors accessible to you are eager to help you with the entire college search process, so don’t be afraid to ask questions!
My favorite UO “fun fact”: There are a couple beautiful magnolia trees around campus that are stunning in spring.
Favorite quote or song lyric: “Sometimes life is like a dark tunnel, you can’t always see the light at end of the tunnel, but if you keep moving…you will come to a better place” Uncle Iroh – Avatar the Last Airbender
Favorite Eugene hangout: I recently discovered a place called Hodgepodge and it quickly became a top spot for me. It’s a bookstore mixed with a small taproom so you can grab a drink or snack and then head upstairs to their reading areas to pop open a good book. The vibes are so comfy, and they support local authors! I highly recommend.
Special skills, talents, interests, or hobbies: I enjoy doing a lot of different things! I like reading or listening to audiobooks, cooking, drawing, dancing, etc., but I’m pretty bad at all ball sports.
If you didn't work in UO Admissions: If I didn’t work in UO Admissions I would be working in another student services department on campus because I love working with students, especially at the UO!
