Transfer Student Timeline

As you apply to attend the University of Oregon, use this timeline to stay on track. Plan to apply for housing as soon as possible. You don't need to be admitted to the university to apply. Housing is awarded on a first-come basis. Also, keep in mind, some departments and majors have earlier deadlines.
October
- Start filling out the University of Oregon Scholarship Application and Diversity Excellence Scholarship Application when they become available October 1
November
- Apply to the Clark Honors College by November 1 for early notification. Submit your application along with the general university application
- Submit your Clark Honors College supporting documents by November 7
December
- Download the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) worksheet available online this month
January
- Start filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) when it becomes available January 1. Submit the FAFSA online or mail the completed FAFSA to the federal processors before February 1 to meet the UO priority deadline of March 1
- Submit your Clark Honors College application by the January 15 deadline
February
- Submit the FAFSA online by February 1 to meet the UO priority deadline of March 1
- Mail the University of Oregon Scholarship Application and the Diversity Excellence Scholarship Application by the deadline of February 16
- Submit your application for admission to the university before the due date next month, to be eligible for early admission notification and May's early transfer advising and registration session
March
- Submit the FAFSA online or mail it to the federal processors by March 1
- Submit your application for admission by March 15 to be eligible for a May advising seminar and early registration for classes
- Your Notice of Financial Aid Eligibility should be arriving soon if you applied for financial aid by February 1. You’ll need to accept your award within 45 days
May
- Submit your university application for admission by May 15 to meet the final deadline
- To confirm your housing contract, you must return the signed contract with the $250 prepayment by the deadline stated on your cover letter. An applicant whose materials reached us after March 15 may receive a contract between June and September if space becomes available.
- Transfer student advising and registration for fall term are held in May. This is your first chance to register for a Transfer Seminar
- When you receive an Intent to Register Form, complete it and return the form with your $200 advance tuition deposit (ATD). The ATD confirmation packet includes business office and health history forms that must be completed and returned
June
- If you received a Notification of Financial Aid Eligibility, you must accept your award by the stated deadline this month
- Last chance to sign up for IntroDUCKtion is June 30
July
- Attend your IntroDUCKtion session. If you missed May advising, meet with an adviser and register for fall classes
August
- Start packing! If you have returned a housing contract and the $250 prepayment, you will receive your residence hall room assignment this month or next
September
- Residence hall check-in begins September 22 for students attending Week of Welcome advising. All other students begin moving in on September 24
- Week of Welcome orientation is September 24-28
- Enjoy the first day of classes on September 29
