Where you're most likely to be found hanging out on campus: Usually the Erb Memorial Union.  It's a regular routine for me to visit the market in the basement of the EMU and buy a big oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, sunflower seeds, and diet Coke
Why you decided to work at the UO:
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and I always had a desire to move back this way. This opportunity at the UO allowed me to do exactly that, to be closer to family, friends, and my hometown of Tacoma, WA. Also, the UO is an institution balanced in many ways.  It has the right mix of quality academic programs, Duck spirit, a residential campus setting, and supportive and diverse community of Eugene, basically many elements that simplify my job of promoting the UO
Tips for college success: Balance your free time and your study time.  It's important to realize that in college, everyone is on different schedules. Your time to relax and play might be your friends' time to study and vice versa. There will be opportunities for you to put off your studies for more leisurely activities with your friends, but you have to "dig deep" and put your schoolwork above everything else
Best part of your job: Traveling to various college fairs and high schools to engage students in their interest in the UO. I enjoy speaking and promoting the UO and encouraging prospective students and families to visit the campus for themselves
Favorite Eugene restaurant: Chicken Bonz, and Market of Choice has a great deli for a morning bagel, or quick lunch as well
If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three items would you bring: Frisbee, beef jerky, and a guitar—it would force me to learn to play a musical instrument
Most memorable college class: Canadian Studies 200: Introduction to Canada. I actually minored in Canadian-American Studies, and this class kicked off my interest in our neighbors to the north.
Favorite duck: Ducky, from Pretty in Pink
If I didn't work in Admissions I'd be: Probably something in museum studies or archives/records management. I can see myself providing tours of the Smithsonian, or Huntington Library.
