Favorite thing to do in Eugene: I love biking and exploring the city during spring and summer. There are hundreds of miles of bike trails for those who want to see a different side of Eugene.
Tips for college success: Trying different things is very important if you are unsure of your major. Take classes that interest you and you’ll get a better understanding of your skills, interests, values, and personality along the way.
Why you decided to work at the UO: As a Duck graduate, I know how diverse and friendly our community is, and I can't wait to contribute my skills to recruiting new Ducks.
Best part of your job: Helping both domestic and international students pursue their goals at the UO.
Favorite Eugene restaurant: Kung Fu Bistro. I love spicy Chinese food, especially Sichuan cuisine—it’s known as some of the spiciest food in the world.
Favorite Campus hangout: The EMU. It was remodeled in 2016 and is a great place to grab food and drinks, hang out, or study with friends.
Most memorable college class: “Top Doppelgänger Film,” a comparative literature elective. I love doppelgänger films for their creepy storylines and intense acting. This class taught me to take a deeper look at all the individual elements—setting, plot, characters, dialogue, symbols, metaphors, and archetypes—when it comes to analyzing films.
Favorite quote or song lyric: “Nothing you can sing that can't be sung / Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game / It’s easy, all you need is love.” — The Beatles, All You Need is Love
Favorite Duck: I’m quite fond of the king eider species, one of the largest sea ducks in the world.
If I didn't work at the UO: I’d like to travel around the world and visit as many countries as I can. Someday I’d like to own my own restaurant and bring more authentic Chinese food to the US.
Special skills, talents, or hobbies: I am multilingual—I’m fluent in English and Chinese, and I know some Japanese, too. I love learning different languages. In addition to that, my passion is travel. I enjoy visiting new places, immersing myself into local cultures around the world, and discovering the unexpected!
