Due to the delay in FAFSA data being supplied to the University of Oregon, the UO is extending the confirmation deadline to June 1, 2024, for first-year students admitted for fall 2024. We are also extending the priority FAFSA filing deadline to April 1, 2024, for all UO students.

Programs for Top Scholars

  • Explore the Robert D. Clark Honors College, a highly selective four-year college of 600 undergraduate scholars that offers small, discussion-based courses taught by award-winning professors.
  • Departmental Honors programs are offered by nearly every department at UO, for example business, Englishpolitical science, or the BFA program in art. Each involves extensive course work, a final thesis or research project, and close mentoring by a faculty advisor.
  • Take part in a Global Scholars language program, which provide a language-immersive environment coupled with academic, social, and cultural opportunities in and outside of the classroom. Choose from programs in Chinese, German, Spanish, French, and Japanese.
  • Enroll in a Challenge FIG for first-year students.
  • Choose from more than 165 study abroad programs.
  • Take advantage of numerous opportunities to conduct research as an undergraduate.

Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarships for top scholars range from $1,500 to $22,500 per year. The Summit and Apex Scholarships are an example of generous merit-based awards for freshmen. You’ll be considered for most awards automatically simply by meeting the application deadline. Three awards, the Presidential, Diversity Excellence, and Stamps Scholarships, require separate applications. Rhodes, Marshall, Fulbright, and other national scholarships offer wonderful opportunities for you to study at prestigious universities around the world, including the UO. As a UO top scholar, you’ll be in good company—among the UO’s faculty members and alumni are two Nobel Prize recipients, 10 Pulitzer Prize winners, 19 Rhodes scholars, 58 Guggenheim fellows, and 129 Fulbright scholars. Recent major scholarship awards won by undergraduates at the UO include the Hollings, Goldwater, and Marshall Scholarships.
