Make the Ascent: New Scholarships Announced

The University of Oregon is proud to announce two new scholarships for incoming freshmen—the Summit and the Apex. These scholarships will reward new Ducks for reaching the pinnacle of high school achievement. The Summit Scholarship will award Oregonian top scholars $20,000 over four years and, due to the difference in tuition, out-of-state top scholars $32,000 over four years. The Apex will grant Oregonians $12,000 over four years and out-of-state top scholars $16,000.These scholarships can be combined with most other UO scholarships, including the Presidential and General University (please note the Summit cannot be combined with the Apex).

Freshman applicants who have not attended another college after graduating high school and who apply for admission by January 15 will be automatically considered for either scholarship based on their high school grade point average and test scores as follows:

Summit

  • Minimum 3.80 high school GPA on a 4.00 scale, and
  • Minimum score: 1200 SAT (Math and Critical Reading only) or 26 ACT

Apex

  • Minimum 3.65 high school GPA on a 4.00 scale, and
  • Minimum score: 1150 SAT (Math and Critical Reading only) or 25 ACT
