Studying the human mind

The human mind is truly a mystery. If you are interested in that mystery, in the study of the human mind and behavior, the psychology department at the UO has a lot to offer.

The department divides the discipline into four areas: cognitive psychology; biological psychology; clinical, personality, and psycho-pathology; and developmental psychology. This offers you the opportunity to choose a focus within a broad subject. You might be interested in the science of psychology, the social aspects of psychology, or in normal and deviant behavior. The field is fascinating, and at the UO you can choose the path that’s right for you.

Psychology department research facilities include the Institute of Cognitive and Decision Sciences, the Center for the Cognitive Neuroscience of Attention, and several department laboratories.

Eugene, Oregon, is a community that strives to provide sound psychological services and support to those who need it. You have many opportunities to work in the com-munity applying the knowledge you gain in school.

So think about it, discuss it, analyze it. The undergraduate psychology major at the UO is both strong and practical.
