The UO in Central Oregon

Earn Your UO Degree at the OSU-Cascades Campus in Bend!

A UO education in Central Oregon is a unique experience. Classes are small, with typical numbers of students per class ranging from 10 to 25.  It’s also affordable: Students can take lower-division courses at Central Oregon Community College or at a community college of their choosing, then complete upper-division course work through the UO, with financial aid and scholarships available for most students.

It’s also a beautiful environment. Nine snow-capped Cascade peaks are visible from campus, and opportunities for outdoor recreation are virtually endless.  The town of Bend offers a vibrant community that welcomes modern-day pioneers.

UO Majors at the OSU-Cascades Campus

  • The general science major provides a broad-based education in the basic sciences, tailored to your interests. You will learn the fundamentals of physics, chemistry, biology, geology, and mathematics, and then specialize in one or more of these areas. This is education for the real world, to prepare you for a wide variety of careers or for graduate school. The program features a strong emphasis on preparation for health professions, and for careers in ecosystem preservation and restoration
  • The general social science major prepares you for a wide variety of careers in areas ranging from social work and personnel administration, to education, government, and journalism.  Some students advance to graduate study in business or law. An understanding of the development, structure, and function of human groups and societies—a primary focus of the program—is fundamental to the success and progress of human organizations
  • The Bend campus offers a psychology degree through one of the leading programs in the discipline, the UO’s Department of Psychology.  You’ll learn about the science of psychology, its social aspects, and normal and deviant behavior.  A degree in psychology is excellent preparation for a wide variety of careers, providing the intellectual tools for work in other social and biological sciences, as well as for professional fields such as education, business, law, and journalism
  • The UO’s Bend-based mathematics major provides basic mathematical and statistical training for the social, biological, and physical sciences, and for professional schools and teacher preparation. The program focuses on teaching both applied mathematics, and mathematics as an intellectual discipline

While pursuing your major in one of the areas described above, you can also minor in a number of related areas. These include:
